+ (7/6/07) The Kamikaze Hearts Kick off WEXT!

Some very interesting news to share with you today.... on Saturday, July 7th at noon (EST), our song "Ash Wednesday" will launch a brand new radio station in the Albany, NY area! WEXT 97.7FM is a brand new listener-supported public radio station that is aiming to open their playlist wide to anything that is "good"! The station will also be syndicating some great programs from across the radio globe, such as "Morning Becomes Eclectic" (from KCRW), "World Cafe Live" (from WXPN), and more. We are proud to be featured on this great new venture and do hope that folks out there will be able to tune their radios or web browsers to WEXT as they pave a new road into people's minds and ears.

Now, some big news --> We will be trekking down to Austin, TX to toss our proverbial hats into the fire that is known as South By South West! + (2/5/07) Oneida Road to be re-released in the UK on March 19

Greetings, friends. It has been a long time, yes? After taking some time off for the holidays to be with friends and family, things are beginning to pick up for 2007. So far, and most notably...

Oneida Road will be re-released on CD in the UK on March 19th by One Little Indian / Tangled Up! Recordings. This version will include a newly recorded bonus track "Pompadour" and is pressed in a jewel case, versus the digipak that the US version comes in. This UK edition of Oneida will also be available on a number of European digital download sites. The details are being ironed out, so keep it here for the latest. If you know anyone in the UK, please point them our way... we could certainly use the ears over there!

All is (relatively) quiet on the shows front. Look for things to pick up in March including a return to Chicago, and _possibly_ a trek to the South for a certain music festival. Stay tuned...
+ (11/17/06) The Kamikaze Hearts sign with One Little Indian Records U.K.
More shows added for 2006

Hello Friends! A few items of note to bring to your attention...

We'd like to announce that we recently signed a three album record deal with One Little Indian Records for the UK and the rest of the world (excluding the U.S. and Canada)! One Little Indian has been the home to The Sugarcubes, Björk, Rocket From the Crypt (UK only), Pernice Brothers (UK only) and The Twilight Singers and whose lineup boasts a huge variety of musicians. We are looking forward to working with this amazing label who has wholly supported their artists' endeavors for over 21 years. One Little Indian will release "Oneida Road" in the UK sometime in March 2007, with a bonus song or two. If sales go well, there will be opportunities for touring, promotions, TV appearances, etc. Sounds fun, yes?

This week, we (dis)grace the cover of Metroland magazine -> visit here to read a great article written by John Rodat, revealing plenty of juicy inside stories, and bringing a thoughtful, patient eye to our little Kamikaze Hearts world.

We very recently added a couple more shows to the 2006 calendar. Head on over to the shows page for complete info, spread the word, and show your face!

Speaking of shows, we are now booking a healthy sized tour in mid-March. We hope to return to some of our favorite places (Chicago, St. Louis, DC, etc...) so, sit tight -- we're on the case!

Thanks again for your continued support!
We hope all is well with you!
+ (10/23/06) Hello friends! Much to report, so let's get to it.

First, we'd like to thank everyone who helped to make our CD release show / Bus Trip come off without a hitch! Thanks to the attendees, the Iron Horse staff, Matt Toback, and especially Brent Gorton and Frank Moscowitz for spending way too much time learning and rehearsing that record from top to bottom. We had a blast playing as a big band and hope to attempt that again sometime.

SHOWS: There are a few more shows on the books in '06. Check out the calendar, spread the word, and come see us soon. Unfortunately, our plans to head south in November didn't quite work out like we had hoped -- so, we sincerely apologize and hope you accept a raincheck for sometime early in the new year? In the meantime, we plan to work up some new songs that we will happily debut for you soon.

"ONEIDA ROAD" REVIEWS / PODCAST APPEARANCES: Since its release a few weeks ago, we've seen some glowing reviews about our new album come down the pipes --
Foxy Digitalis gave it a 9 out of 10! Unbelievable!
Urban Pollution gave it an 8.5 out of 10!
JunkMedia gave it 4 shaded-in boxes out of 5!
Hanx gave it 4.5 out of 5 stars!
Loose Record had nice things to say!
AltCountry.nl gave it 4 out of 5 horses trotting!

Wow! Thanks, review folks! Additionally, Hearts tunes have turned up on the following podcasts:
Aquarium Drunkard Podcast: Episode 16 (USA)
AmericanaOK: Episode 39 (UK)
AltCountry.NL: Episode 9 (Netherlands)
NPR's Open Mic Podcast for 10/23/06 (USA).

We offer many thanks to these folks for including us in their podcasts, and encourage you all to check them out.

RADIO, RADIO: When will the bottom fall out of this one? We are counting the days! Two weeks ago, "Oneida Road" debuted on the College Music Journal's Top 200 list at #67. We thought "fluke!" and waited for it to drop the following week. However, somehow the album scurried up to #50 on the list! Whoa! There was no possible way of upward movement this week, was there? Lo and behold, the chart results posted late Tuesday night say that "Oneida Road" is currently the 42nd most played album on college radio in the country! What a wild trip this has been. Thanks to all the DJs, music directors and listeners out there. We hope you continue to enjoy the music as much as we've toiled over making it.

That's the latest, friends! Thanks for reading. We hope you are well.

+ (9/26/06) Hello! We are back from our "Tornadoes Be Damned" Tour 2006! Thanks to everyone who made the 2,267 miles in 4 days an amazing experience!

A few items -- there was a short delay in the delivery of our new album, "Oneida Road" to our digital distributor, which will set back the online release of the album back just a little bit. Please sit tight for new details on this -- we will keep you informed!

In the meantime, head right on over to the Miles of Music store and grab yourself a copy of "Oneida Road" on CD!:

We are proud that the MoM store is carrying our record as the folks over there hand-pick every item that they carry. They named "Oneida Road" a "Cracker" - the Miles of Music term for "you are guaranteed to like this". They wrote a nice bit about the record, and are featuring it high on their front page! Please support this amazing store and help us out at the same time!

One last bit of info for now -- looks like the KH Bus Trip to Northampton this Friday is SOLD OUT! Thanks to everyone who is joining us! See you soon!
